Red Crown Imperial Fritillary, or Fritillaria rubra, is an exceptional, winter-hardy bulb that you don't see too often! It blooms in mid-spring, and it features bright red-orange flowers on tall flower stems.
Fritillaria are naturally deer-resistant, and this bulb, in particular, makes for a great cut flower!
